Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is an excellent place for kids and adults alike to get up close with all kinds of animals. The facility has dozens of different birds, from ducks, geese, and swans to bald eagles. In addition, there are wolves, bison, foxes, and other mammals on the land too! You can even hand-feed deer or take pictures right next to them. It's not very often you get so close-up with wildlife like this without going down into some secluded forest area that no one ever goes hiking in anyways (or camping).
